Pickleball Instruments and USA Pickleball began implementation of a Field-Testing Program designed to promote fairness, transparency, and equipment compliance across competitive play. The program deployed Pickleball Instruments technology on-site at USA Pickleball Golden Ticket tournaments.
The program combines portable field-testing instruments with PaddleDNA, a companion data platform that records and tracks test results. Together, these tools are intended to bring greater consistency and confidence to paddle checks at competitive tournaments.
Testing closer to competition
Historically, comprehensive paddle testing has largely been confined to laboratory environments. The field-testing system is designed to help tournament officials evaluate relevant paddle characteristics on-site and associate results with a digital record.
The system was implemented across amateur divisions at the first USA Pickleball Golden Ticket event of the 2026 season, with continued use planned for additional program events.
